A worn-out Wolverine
is recovering from his wounds when he encounters a brash Deadpool who has
travelled through time to treat his best friend in an effort to get to know the
wild animal and work with him to defeat a common enemy.
The Canadian actor tells viewers from a
living room in the trailer, "We're so sorry to have missed D23 but we've
been working hard on the next Deadpool feature for a good long time now."
"I had to really go deep inside myself for this one. Obviously, his debut
appearance in the MCU needs to be memorable.
Films featuring
Deadpool before this one were created by 20th Century Fox and took place in the
same world as prior X-Men movies. However, Marvel Studios will now be able to
include mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to Disney's purchase of
Fox (MCU). Only one pre-acquisition franchise, Deadpool, is expected to
continue under Disney.
The Just Friends actor is then seen in a
montage working diligently and introspectively in the kitchen, bathroom, and
forest. "We must remain faithful to the character while discovering fresh
depth, new inspiration, and new meaning. In a voiceover, he explains, "Every
Deadpool [movie] needs to stand out and stand unique.
"I've had to dig deep inside to find
anything, and it's been an enormous task. Yes, it is entirely vacant up here.
And frightening.
But we did have one concept,"
Reynolds adds as a person enters the backdrop. Hey Hugh, would you like to play
Wolverine again?
Yes, certainly, Ryan,
says 53-year-old Jackman as he nonchalantly continues to go up the steps.
