Uk reaches new heights with a whopping 12.4%
hike in food prices on even the basic necessary good items such as eggs, milk
and milk products including all the dairy products and coffee.
Foods made fresh and organic led to an even further increase in price
rates which went from being 13.3% in October to 14.3% now. And according to the
statistics and reports and the large data that has been collected, it's
observed to keep on increasing as the months pass by. The recent data collected
from the British Retail Consortium trade body, suggests that all the hike in
inflation represents big merchants, and the market research firm of NielsenIQ.
Altogether the shop prices inflation had a hike which rose upto 7.4% in
November itself which was previously 6.6% in October. This kind of sudden hike
has not been observed since the year 2005. Along with the basic necessary food
items, a significant increase in prices of sports equipment was also observed.
The
poverty-stricken households are most hardly hit due to this sudden inflation.
As they were already struggling with the bills they had to pay as now they are
left with no option than to cut off from their savings.
The
ones who come under the higher income bracket compared to the poorer households
are actually able to hold well in these times of inflation but still upto a
certain extent. They are also curbing back on spending over luxury items and
luxury meals and having a switch to cheaper items and products in order to
maintain their pockets. Mostly, they are seen shopping in Aldi and Lidl for a
discounted price or straight up buying from big supermarkets to get a hefty
discount.
As
of now it's the start of December month, Christmas would give a harder time to
everyone residing in the UK. As the cost would be burning the pockets of the
citizens notwithstanding the surges of discounts.
The
Chief executive of British Retail Consortium, Helen Dickenson states as the
winter has increased and would keep on increasing the pressure on prices would
be persistent. The food prices would ascend as the demand for meat, eggs and
dairy products is always high, and they require huge amounts of energy costs as
it keeps on rising for animal feed and their transport. Christmas Gifting
prices would have an immense pressure on it as well as the recreation equipment
with the sports has increased.
